It's officially countdown to the holiday season! And you know that means Christmas parties and events are coming our way. And you can't show up in the same dress you wore last year...no matter how cute it is on you.

The #MySharpCurves Pick of the Week may be able to help you out. Brought to you by the fine people at Kiyonna Clothing (kiyonna.com), I present the Luring Lace Dress.

What do I love about this dress? Everything! From the color (ruby but also available in black) to the lace details on the arm, it's a winner! Although the models on the website and photo here (from their website) wear the dress off-shoulder, it can be worn on the shoulders as well.

Style suggestion: Pair this with sparkly or metallic heels and a complimentary jewelry set for quick and cute semi-formal flare.

So, what do you think? Is this a dress that you would rock for your holiday events?

Happy October! I can't believe it's the last quarter of the year and I haven't done a post all year long. I need to get my life together but multi-tasking is a challenge when you have a toddler.

Anyway, we all know that October is the official month of Breast Cancer Awareness. Before I get into the fashion and fundraiser sponsored by Torrid, I want to remind you to do your monthly self breast exams. Here's a guide from CANSA on to how to do your own BSE if you don't know or don't remember:

Now that we've handled that important business, I wanted to share that one of the most awesome stores for full-figured divas, Torrid, is doing their part to help support the breast cancer awareness movement.

Torrid is donating 20% of the net proceeds from sales of their pink ribbon inspired items to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for this epidemic that touches so many lives and families.

And the best part about it is that you get to look cute while you support this cause. It's a win-win situation!

Here are a few of the styles from the collection and you can click here to view the entire collection.

Wow, I can't believe it's #NYFW already! That's New York Fashion Week for those looking with a blank stare. Ha! Two of the biggest stories are about France banning ultra thin models and Kanye West's "Yeezy" fashion unveiling. As far as the 'thin model ban', I think it's amazing that the fashion industry is becoming more adept to real life...even though we have a long way to go, especially for curvier figures. And Yeezy...people can say what they want but Mr. West is doing his thing. The nay sayers are forgetting that fashion is flexible and just because they don't care for it, that's their opinion.

Okay, back to life in the here and now...

Today is casual Friday so I'm wearing my jeans and work polo, which isn't spectacular in the least.

But yesterday, I finally rocked a simple yet stunning look that some of my favorite bloggers have done. It's the dress with booties look. Basically, you take a cute dress that is knee-length or shorter, add some tights or leggings and finish the look with some hot booties. I'm not referring to backside booties (got enough of that though), but to the ankle-height boots that come in a variety of colors and styles.

I styled mine by starting with an old maroon  sheath dress with faux leather side strips. I added some basic black leggings and some cute black booties that were a gift from my best friend. To spice it up and keep a little warmer, I added my faux leather with sheer stripes jacket. The best part of this is that I had all of this in my closet! Go team ME!

And here are some of my favorite bloggers rocking this trendy trio of dress + tights + booties. The photos are courtesy of the ladies' blog sites.

From left to right, these beauties are:

"Diva Doing" items: Dress (old from Ross) + Leggings (old) + Booties (gifted from BFF) + Jacket (old from Ashley Stewart)

And before I got I have to give a shout out to my photographer extraordinaire, Ms. Shawnee!
